Strange Phenomenon
That same consciousness takes what has passed, as its object; therefore it has a past object.
In those who resolve about the future, as in the case of the venerable Maha Kassapa, in the great storing of the relics, and others, it has a future object
When the venerable Assagutta saw the community of monks (bhikkhu) eating dry food in the Vattaniya Lodging, the venerable Assagutta resolved thus, ‘let the water pool become cream of curd every day at meal’.
At meal, the water was cream of curd, but after meal, it was only water. Such occurrences were common in the days of the Buddha.
